Exciting plans for the development of the hall are passed unanimously by Chichester District Council.

Contributions have been collected from members of the congregation and the total collected so far is £150,000.

The total cost is likely to be in the region of £495,000, so we have nearly one-third of the total required, but there is a long way still to go. Now we have been granted planning permission, we shall be applying to various bodies for grants.

These improvements are designed to make the hall better able to serve the whole village, so fundraising will be aimed at all inhabitants of Westbourne, as well as hall users who often come from a wider area.

The hall is now called the PARISH HALL. This is to emphasise that the hall is there to serve the whole community, not a new concept, since the church’s use of the hall is relatively minor. Take a look at the hall diary for confirmation.

The hall is owned by the church and, hitherto, has always been managed by the church. Once the development is finished the hall committee will consist of both church and village representatives.
